Itching to learn how to publish your own comics? Join award-winning graphic novelist Kat Fajardo (Miss Quinces, The Kids in Mrs Z’s Class) for an introduction to everything you need to know to get started in the exciting world of publishing. From self-publishing your own work, to working with publishing houses, Kat will share tips and tricks to help jumpstart your publishing journey.

Following the presentation, there will be a work critique and feedback session. Feel free to bring works in progress, share your ideas, and ask any questions you have about t publishing.

About our Presenter:

Kat Fajardo (she/they) is an award-winning cartoonist who loves creating playful and colorful illustrations, zines, and comics about self-acceptance and Latine culture. She’s the creator of graphic novels Miss Quinces and Miss Camper, which were both national indie bestsellers, received various literary awards, and been featured on multiple national reading lists for kids. Working in kidlit for 10+ years, despite having a passion for making art for middle grade book covers, chapter books, and graphic novels, self-publishing minicomics will always have a special place in Kat’s heart.
