A Gathering to Honor the Passed
Closing Event for Vision Weaving: Indigenous Art of the Americas
Join us for a special evening of remembrance, reflection, and connection as we gather to honor those we have loved and lost.
You are invited to bring a photograph of a loved one who has passed to place on our remembrance altar. Throughout the evening, illuminations will bring new light to the artwork, creating a space for contemplation and connection.
We will gather in a community circle to reflect about those whose lives continue to live within us.
This evening offers a meaningful opportunity to experience Threads of Vision one final time, surrounded by community and in the spirit of remembrance.
The exhibit includes vibrant woven kene song cloths, of the Shipibo Conibo of Peru’s Ucayali River basin, handmade gamas from Kogi of northern Colombia, and the intricate art the Wixáritari (Huichol) of Mexico. Each piece is alive with prayer and meaning, carrying the spiritual traditions and practices of its people.
All of these communities are partners of the Center for Shamanic Education and Exchange, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting Indigenous spiritual traditions. https://shamaniceducation.org/
This event is the last chance to see Vision Weaving: Indigenous Art of the Americas exhibit.
