Patterns of Power: Exhibit Tour

  • ArtUs Co 10000 Research Blvd. Suite 141 Austin, TX, 78759 United States (map)

In this exhibit tour, Mary Olivar, Executive Director of the Center for Shamanic Education and Exchange, invites us on a journey through the art and spirit of three Indigenous cultures, the Shipibo Conibo of the Peruvian Amazon, the Kogi of Colombia’s Sierra Nevada mountains, and the Wixárika (Huichol) people of Mexico’s Sierra Madre range.

Each piece in this exhibit is more than art, it is a living expression of prayer, cosmology, and connection to the natural world. Mary will share insights from her work with these communities and how their artistry and spiritual practices reflect an unbroken relationship with the Earth and its unseen realms.

Drawing from her own lifelong path as a bridge-builder between people, traditions, and spirit, Mary will illuminate how Indigenous-directed initiatives help sustain sacred traditions and ensure that ancestral wisdom continues to thrive for generations to come.
